Tourism Safety Training Initiative..What's That?


Travel trends clearly reveal that more and more Indian tourists are looking to get more adventurous while holidaying. What this safety training is about?
A new initiative by the union government and certain state governments has been initiated in this direction. The state tourism of Jharkhand in order to ensure better safety for travelers to the many tourist spots in the state will train boatmen as well as “paryatan mitras” near the dams and waterfalls at various locations throughout Jharkhand. This training in to be done following a tie up with the “National Institute of Water Sports” in Panaji Goa , which is under the Union Ministry of Tourism. This is a 5 day training program which would also certify the trained boat men and rescue operators. This is a major shift in tourism policy.

Jharkhand Government to invest Rs 2000 Crores for developing Tourism

In a recent move towards the promotion of tourism in the state, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand Sri Raghubar Das announced that the state government proposed to invest around Rs 2000 crore to develop selected tourist places as a world-class tourist destination.

As per a senior official of the state tourism department the famous Rajrappa temple would be developed on the lines of Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir.

The official also stated that those who will face displacement problems for beautification project would be rehabilitated. It is possible that nearly 600 people might be displaced owing to the new project, but they would all be settled by the government.

Indian Hospitality & Tourism Sector likely to grow to $ 48 Billion by 2020
