Facts of Chhath Puja...!!!

Chhath Puja is believed to be the only Vedic Festival dedicated to Surya (the Sun God). People celebrate this festival to offer thanks to the #Lord Surya for blessing the life on the earth as ever. The customary practices of the puja are spread over four days and the rituals include holy bathing, fasting and performing the argya (offering prayers to the setting and rising sun).
Both the setting and rising Sun are worshipped to mark the cycle of death and birth. Like other Hindu Festivals, Chhath too is symbolic in nature.

Chhath Puja Rituals
Since the festival falls on the sixth day of the month of Kartika, it is called Chhath. It is considered that Lord Rama and Mata Sita had kept their fast and offer puja to the #Lord Sun in Kartik suklapaksha during their coronation after returning to the Ayodha after 14 years of exile. From that time, #Chath Puja became the significant and traditional festival in the #Hindu religion and started celebrating every year at the same date.
